Search Overview

The Search Jobs page allows you to search for DOT jobs by state, county, district, letting date, job value range, and/or contractor*.  The results can be sorted ascending or descending by Letting Date, County, Contract Id, Project, or Winning Bid Amount by clicking on the column heading.  From this section, a subscribed user with HeavyBid estimating software can download selected jobs into HeavyBid for further analysis.  The button on each row labeled Go displays the details about the job, including a section that allows you to compare up to three contractors' individual bid item prices at one time.

The Search a Single DOT Item page allows you to search for the weighted average price of a particular DOT item for the past year.  This average can then be compared to a search with more user-defined criteria*.  You can specify a county/counties* or district/districts*, quantity range, unit price range*, letting date range*, and/or contractors* in order to get an average that more accurately fits your situation.  Clicking on the Detail button will display the data used in the calculation, a statistical summary*, and a unit price distribution chart*.

*

The Search Multiple DOT Items page allows you to search for the weighted average price of a list of DOT items at one time.  The search criteria set in the Optional Search Filters section is applied to all the items in the list.  To change the criteria for one item*, simply click on the Edit button located at the far right of the row.  The Edit screen shows statistical summary information* about that particular DOT item, a unit price distribution chart*, and a section to change the search criteria for that item and see the results before you save it to your list*.  From the Edit screen, you can choose to view the data used in the calculation.

The Contractor Analysis page allows you to get bidding statistics for a selected contractor. Statistics include # Jobs Bid, # Jobs Won, # Times in Lowest 3 Bidders, Average Rank, Total $ Awarded, Largest Job Won, Smallest Job Won, Average $ Awarded, Winning %, Average Bid Size, Overall % Left on the Table, and Average % Left on the Table. Optional Filters, such as Letting Date, County/District, and Job Value, can be applied to the analysis. The Detail button allows you to see all the jobs that the selected contractor bid on, based on the filters.

The Download to Heavybid option allows you to download bid tabs for jobs from the state you are subscribed to (unlimited with an All States subscription) into your HeavyBid estimating software for further analysis.  Selecting a date range and/or contractors allows you to be more specific about which jobs to download from that state.
